Club Rules
**ALL LITTER TO BE TAKEN HOME**
1. Only fully paid-up members, exchange permit holder or invited teams shall fish the lake.
2. Members using club waters must carry: Disgorger, suitable landing net, unhooking matt and proof of club membership. If requested, must produce their proof of membership to any constable, bailiff, keeper owner/tenant or their servants or any club member.
3. Members must be in possession of a current water authority license and must fish in accordance with local byelaws unless otherwise stated.
4. No member shall carry a gun, rifle or gaff without relevant permission nor leave fishing like hooks etc on club premises.
5. Any member found damaging fences, crops, trespassing on adjoining land including British rail property. Lighting fires, insulting any club official, tenant or their servants or found breaking any club rule shall be reported to the secretary and may be expelled at the next committee meeting.
6. No vehicle will drive behind the golf course greens without first stopping at the signs at either end or checking for playing golfers. Under no circumstances will a member drive his/her vehicle along the track whilst golfers are plating on the green. Golfers have right away at all times, also priority must be given to vehicles leaving the lake carpark. Failure to observe any part of this rule will result in an automatic 3-month suspension for a first offence and expulsion for further breaches.
7. No member shall deviate from recognised paths and/or facilities nor shall any member fish any other place than recognised pegs.
8. No fish whatsoever are to be entered onto or removed from club waters without the committee’s permission.
9. All fish must be returned to water the best possible condition.
10. GROUNDBAIT
Allowances – ½ kilo (dry) per day to be introduced using the following methods only a)Hand b) Cup c) Feeder d) Catapult (groundbait constitutes anything other than hook bait) If fishing a match on the same day , the match limit will also be permitted.
11. No alcohol permitted on the premises.
12. No Wading shall be allowed unless authorised by pond management team or bailiffs.
13. No close season – Fishing all year round.
14. KEEP NETS:
Must be at least 2meters in length and of a minimum diameter of 35cm.
Minimum of 2 keepnets to be used at all times 1 for Silver fish 1 for Carp.
Club officials are empowered to order the emptying of nets at any time during the day.
15. LAKE CLOSURES: Day time matches 6am on the same day until after the match. Evening matches
4.00pm same day until after match.
16. All bait must be carried in proper bait containers.
17. HOOKS: All Hooks MUST be Barbless up to a maximum size 10, All rigs must be free running rigs.
18. No line or hook, baited or otherwise to be left unattended in the water at any time.
19. Junior members must be accompanied by an adult while fishing club waters.
20. Night fishing not permitted.
21. No Braided line Allowed.
WALKING AROUND THE LAKE DURING MATCH COMPETITIONS IS NOT PERMITTED
Club Match Rules
1. All matches will be pegged (decided by recorded draw).
2. Competitors must stay within confines of the numbered pegs until the final signal or they leave the water.
3. A Competitor may fish as far as half the distance between his/her peg and the peg either side when there is more than 20 anglers present in the match, If less than 20 anglers you may fish to your side of the next peg. When competitors are drawn on opposite banks, the limit will be half the distance between banks, the competitor will restrict all his/her activities, tackle, bait and groundbait to these limits.
4. No limit to the number of tackles assembled but only one rod, line and hook to be used at any one time. The remainder to be pointed away from the water unbaited.
5. Groundbait: Refer to “Rule 10” of lake rules.
6. Keep nets: Refer to “Rule 14” of Club rules.
7. Competitors must strike, play fish and land their own fish except juniors, who are allowed assistance to land fish if in difficulty.
8. All litter to be taken home.
9. No live or dead baiting, Spinning, treble hooks or artificial lures.
10. The surface of the water must not be broken before the starting signal other than to place rods on the rest, place keep nets, mix groundbait and to plumb depth.
11. No tackle to be left unattended.
12. Competitors will fish between the start and finish signal only. Any competitor hooking a fish just prior to the finish signal will be allowed 15 minutes after finishing signal to land and weigh the fish.
13. Fishing times to be declared before the match commences.
14. All weights will be recorded and rounded up to the nearest half ounce.
15. The first 36 names to fish matches
16. Any complaints must be logged with match secretary (or his/her deputy) within 10 minutes of time being called. Complaints will be dealt with by the match secretary (or his/her deputy) and any disciplinary procedure deemed necessary, subject to full committee ratification, will be within his/her jurisdiction. Any or all prizes will be withheld pending such decision. The match secretary has the authority to adjust match rules in emergency conditions.
17. No wading allowed.
18. All competitors must weigh all fish caught.
19. Pairs Matches: Pegs to be drawn. only named pairs accepted. No entry allowed after the draw has been made.
20. No entry to matches will be accepted after the draw has been deemed closed.
21. Any junior member holding a junior licence at the beginning of the year will be allowed to fish all junior matches for that year whether he/she reaches the age of 16 or not.
22. The use of optics/bait alarms is prohibited during matches
23. No juniors will be allowed to enter senior matches
24. Pools for all club matches will be optional
The following additional rules will be applied to the summer night series:
25. Competitors will fish to club match rules.
26. In the event of a tie on points the aggregate weight of all matches will decide.
27. All fish must be weighed in, any competitor caught failing to do so will result in disqualification from series and may also be banned from fishing some or all club matches during the season.
28. Match secretary will decide selection of club teams.
29. Net Limit: 60lb Net limit, over 65lb the net will be disqualified and not counted.
